A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Amministrazione Trasparente plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 9.0. This vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with administrator-level permissions to inject arbitrary scripts. The injected scripts execute when users access the affected pages. This issue is present in multi-site installations where the unfiltered_html capability has been disabled.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with administrator privileges can navigate to the plugin's admin settings. Here, they can inject scripts into fields that do not properly sanitize input. Once the scripts are saved, they will be executed when any user accesses the page that contains the injected script.
Users are advised to update the Amministrazione Trasparente WordPress plugin to version 9.1 or later.
