WPBakery Page Builder Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in Grid Builder Feature

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the WPBakery Page Builder for WordPress, specifically in the Grid Builder feature. This issue affects all versions of the plugin up to and including 8.4.1. The vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes, allowing authenticated attackers with author-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts into pages. These scripts are executed when a user accesses the compromised page.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update WPBakery Page Builder to version 8.5 or a newer patched version.
