Android Framework Elevation of Privilege Vulnerability in CDM Associations
Vulnerability
A vulnerability in the Android framework's AssociationRequest component allows for improper input validation, which can cause CDM (Content Distribution Management) associations to remain active even after a user has disassociated them. This flaw could lead to unauthorized privileges being granted, without the need for additional execution rights. Exploitation of this vulnerability does not require user interaction.
Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability could result in unauthorized elevation of privileges, allowing a user to gain access to restricted functions or data.
Remediation
Users can update their devices to the December 2025 security patch level to address this vulnerability.
