- V1.0
A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in Projectworlds Life Insurance Management System version 1.0, specifically within the deleteAgent.php file. The issue arises from inadequate validation of the agent_id parameter, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries that could be executed against the application's database. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, potentially leading to unauthorized database access, data manipulation, and exposure of sensitive information.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for unauthorized access to the database, manipulation or deletion of data, and access to sensitive information. Such actions could severely compromise system security and disrupt business operations.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a crafted HTTP request to deleteAgent.php with an injected SQL payload in the agent_id parameter. This can be done using tools like sqlmap, which automates the process of finding and exploiting SQL injection vulnerabilities.
To address this vulnerability, it is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
