WordPress Cook&Meal Theme Local File Inclusion Vulnerability

A local file inclusion vulnerability has been identified in the WordPress Cook&Meal theme, affecting versions through 1.2.3. This vulnerability arises from improper control of filenames in include or require statements, allowing PHP remote file inclusion that could be exploited to include local files from the server.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could allow a malicious actor to include local files from the server and execute them, potentially leading to a complete database takeover if files containing database credentials are accessed.

Remediation

Users are advised to update to version 1.2.4 or later. Patchstack has also issued a virtual patch to block attacks until the update is applied.
