A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in PHPGurukul Complaint Management System version 2.0. The issue resides in the admin profile management file, specifically within the 'mobilenumber' parameter. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to inject malicious SQL queries, which could be executed without authorization, potentially leading to unauthorized database access, data manipulation, and disclosure of sensitive information.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, where attackers can interfere with the application's database queries. This could lead to unauthorized data access, data modification or deletion, and in some cases, executing administrative operations on the database.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/admin/admin-profile.php' with a crafted 'mobilenumber' parameter that includes malicious SQL payloads. This can be done using tools like sqlmap, which automates the process of finding and exploiting SQL injection vulnerabilities.
It is recommended to validate and sanitize user inputs, particularly for parameters that are used in SQL queries. Implementing prepared statements and parameterized queries can also help prevent SQL injection attacks.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
