A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in PHPGurukul Beauty Parlour Management System version 1.1. The issue resides in the contact.php file, where the fname parameter is manipulated to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication, allowing attackers to access and manipulate the database. The lack of proper input validation and sanitization in the application is the root cause of this vulnerability.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows unauthorized access to the database, where attackers can leak, modify, or delete data. Additionally, it could lead to complete control over the system and disruption of services.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to the /bpms/contact.php endpoint. The request must include the fname parameter with a crafted payload that exploits the SQL injection flaw, such as a time-based blind injection payload that uses the SQL SLEEP function.
It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection. Additionally, input validation and filtering should be implemented to ensure user input meets expected formats, blocking malicious data. Finally, database user permissions should be minimized, granting only necessary access rights.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
