Vulnerability

A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in Campcodes Sales and Inventory System version 1.0. The issue resides in the file '/pages/view_application.php', specifically within the 'cid' parameter. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to inject malicious SQL queries, exploiting inadequate input validation. As a result, attackers could gain unauthorized access to the database, manipulate or delete data, and access sensitive information.

Impact

Reproduction

The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a request to '/pages/view_application.php' with a crafted 'cid' parameter that includes malicious SQL payloads. This can be done using tools like sqlmap, which automates the process of finding and exploiting SQL injection vulnerabilities.

Remediation

It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
