A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in Campcodes Sales and Inventory System version 1.0. The issue arises in the file '/pages/transaction_add.php', where the 'prod_name' parameter is not properly validated, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, leading to unauthorized database access, data manipulation, and potential disruption of service.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for unauthorized access to the database, manipulation or deletion of data, leakage of sensitive information, and could disrupt services, posing a significant risk to system security and business operations.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/pages/transaction_add.php' with a crafted 'prod_name' parameter that includes malicious SQL payloads. This can be done using tools like sqlmap, which automates the process of finding and exploiting SQL injection vulnerabilities.
To address this vulnerability, it is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
