Trix Editor Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in the Trix editor, a WYSIWYG rich text editor, in versions prior to 2.1.15. This vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript within the context of the user's session by tricking them into pasting malicious code. Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, paste a crafted HTML snippet into the Trix editor that includes JavaScript execution, such as an image tag with an 'onerror' event. The editor will execute the JavaScript, demonstrating the XSS vulnerability.

Remediation

Users are advised to update to Trix editor version 2.1.15 or later.
