A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Zotpress plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 7.3.15. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with Author-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These scripts execute when users access the compromised pages.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Author-level access or higher can inject scripts via the 'nickname' parameter. The injected scripts will be executed when the page is accessed by any user.
No known patch is available. It is recommended to uninstall the affected plugin and consider a replacement.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
