Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP Reflected Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Liferay Portal versions 7.4.0 through 7.4.3.133, as well as in Liferay DXP versions 2025.Q1.0 through 2025.Q1.4, 2024.Q4.0 through 2024.Q4.7, 2024.Q3.1 through 2024.Q3.13, 2024.Q2.0 through 2024.Q2.13, 2024.Q1.1 through 2024.Q1.15, and Liferay DXP 7.4 GA through update 92. This vulnerability allows remote, non-authenticated attackers to inject JavaScript into a specific JSP file related to blog entry cover image captions.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious JavaScript that is executed in the context of the user's browser.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to Liferay DXP 2025.Q2.0, 2025.Q1.5, or 2024.Q1.16 to address this vulnerability.
