A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Elementor Website Builder plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 3.30.2. The issue arises in the Text Path widget, where insufficient input sanitization and output escaping allow authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts. These scripts are executed when a user accesses the affected page. This vulnerability specifically impacts users on Chrome or Edge browsers.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Contributor-level access or higher can inject scripts through the Text Path widget by exploiting the data-text DOM element attribute. The injected scripts will then be executed when the page is viewed.
Users are advised to update the Elementor Website Builder plugin to version 3.30.3 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
