A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the ElementsKit Elementor Addons and Templates plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 3.5.2. The issue arises in the image comparison widget, where insufficient input sanitization and output escaping allow authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary scripts. These scripts are executed when a user accesses the affected page.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with contributor-level access or higher can use the image comparison widget in the ElementsKit Elementor Addons and Templates plugin. By injecting a script into the before or after labels, the script will be executed when the page is viewed.
Users are advised to update the ElementsKit Elementor Addons and Templates plugin to version 3.5.3 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
