A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the itsourcecode Gym Management System version 1.0. The issue resides in the ajax.php file, specifically within the save_package action. The vulnerability allows remote attackers to inject malicious SQL queries through the id parameter, exploiting inadequate input validation. This injection could lead to unauthorized database access, data manipulation, and exposure of sensitive information.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for unauthorized access to the database, potential leakage or modification of data, and could disrupt services, posing a significant risk to system security and business operations.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to ajax.php?action=save_package with a crafted id parameter that includes a SQL injection payload. This can be done using tools like sqlmap, which automates the process of finding and exploiting SQL injection vulnerabilities.
To address this vulnerability, it is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
