A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in Eclipse OpenJ9 versions prior to 0.51, when used with OpenJDK version 8. The vulnerability arises from the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) reading a modified file on disk during startup, which can lead to memory corruption.
Exploitation of this vulnerability causes a stack-based buffer overflow, which can lead to arbitrary code execution or a crash of the Java Virtual Machine.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
