A privilege escalation vulnerability has been identified in the FileWave Windows client, affecting versions prior to 16.0.0. In certain non-default configurations, this vulnerability allows an unprivileged local user to escalate privileges to the SYSTEM level.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for unauthorized privilege escalation, enabling a local user to gain SYSTEM-level access.

Remediation

Users are advised to upgrade to FileWave version 16.0.0 or later.
