Liferay Portal and DXP Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Liferay Portal versions 7.4.3.15 through 7.4.3.111, as well as in Liferay DXP versions 2023.Q4.0 through 2023.Q4.5, 2023.Q3.1 through 2023.Q3.8, and 7.4 update 15 through update 92. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts or HTML. The injection occurs through a crafted payload placed in a Terms and Conditions 'Name' text field, targeting either the Payment Terms or Delivery Term on the view order page.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the affected page.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to Liferay Portal 7.4.3.112, Liferay DXP 2024.Q1.1, Liferay DXP 2023.Q4.6, or Liferay DXP 2023.Q3.9.
