Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP Reflected Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Liferay Portal versions 7.4.3.73 through 7.4.3.128, as well as in Liferay DXP versions 2024.Q3.0 through 2024.Q3.1, 2024.Q2.0 through 2024.Q2.13, 2024.Q1.1 through 2024.Q1.12, and 7.4 update 73 through update 92. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts or HTML via the '/c/portal/comment/discussion/get_editor' path.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to Liferay Portal 7.4.3.129 or Liferay DXP versions 2024.Q1.13, 2024.Q3.2, or 2024.Q4.0 to address this vulnerability.
