Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP Reflected Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in CPDefinitionsPortlet

Vulnerability

A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Liferay Portal versions 7.4.0 through 7.4.3.112, as well as in Liferay DXP versions 2024.Q1.1 through 2024.Q1.18 and 7.4 GA through update 92. This vulnerability allows remote authenticated attackers to inject JavaScript into the '_com_liferay_commerce_product_definitions_web_internal_portlet_CPDefinitionsPortlet_productTypeName' parameter. The injected script is then executed in the context of the user's browser.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the user's browser.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to Liferay Portal 7.4.3.113 or Liferay DXP 2024.Q1.19 to address this vulnerability.
