Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Liferay Portal versions 7.4.0 to 7.4.3.128, as well as in several Liferay DXP releases. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts or HTML into the remote app title field, which could then be executed in the context of the user.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to Liferay Portal 7.4.3.129 or Liferay DXP versions 2024.Q1.13, 2024.Q3.6, or 2024.Q4.0 to address this vulnerability.
