A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Liferay Portal versions 7.4.0 through 7.4.3.131, as well as in several Liferay DXP 2024 and 2023 versions. This vulnerability allows remote, non-authenticated attackers to inject JavaScript into the referer or FORWARD_URL parameters by using a null byte (%00) payload. Exploitation of this issue could lead to the execution of malicious scripts in the context of the user's browser.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious JavaScript that is executed in the context of the user's browser.
Users can upgrade to Liferay Portal 7.4.3.132 or Liferay DXP versions 2024.Q1.13, 2024.Q4.4, or 2025.Q1.0 to address this vulnerability.
