A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in PHPGurukul Online DJ Booking Management System version 1.0. The issue arises in the file '/admin/booking-search.php', where the 'searchdata' parameter is processed without proper validation, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, leading to unauthorized database access, data manipulation, and potential leakage of sensitive information.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for unauthorized access to the database, manipulation or deletion of data, and access to sensitive information. Such actions pose a significant threat to system security and data integrity.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/admin/booking-search.php' with the 'searchdata' parameter. The injection can be performed using a time-based blind SQL injection payload, such as one that utilizes the 'SLEEP' function, or a UNION-based SQL injection payload that extracts data by appending a SQL query to the original request.
To address this vulnerability, it is recommended to implement prepared statements and parameter binding to separate SQL code from user input, ensuring that injected data is not executed as part of a SQL command. Additionally, input validation and filtering should be applied to conform user data to expected formats. Minimizing database user permissions and conducting regular security audits can further enhance the application's security.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
