wpForo and wpForo Advanced Attachments Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the wpForo plugin and its wpForo Advanced Attachments addon for WordPress. This issue affects all versions of the addon up to and including 3.1.3. The vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with Custom-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts into pages. These scripts would execute when a user accesses the compromised page.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the wpForo Advanced Attachments plugin to version 3.2.0 or later.
