A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in PHPGurukul Boat Booking System version 1.0. The issue resides in the admin/edit-boat.php file, where the bid parameter is manipulated to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, allowing attackers to access and manipulate the database without authorization.
Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized database access, allowing attackers to modify or delete data, access sensitive information, and potentially disrupt services.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to the admin/edit-boat.php file with a crafted bid parameter that includes malicious SQL payloads. This can be done using a tool like sqlmap, which automates the process of finding and exploiting SQL injection vulnerabilities.
To address this vulnerability, it is recommended to implement prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection. Additionally, input validation and filtering should be applied to ensure that user input conforms to expected formats. Finally, database user permissions should be minimized to limit access rights.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
