Sesame Web Application Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability
Vulnerability
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Sesame web application, specifically in the employee management component. This issue arises because uploaded SVG images are not adequately sanitized, allowing attackers to inject malicious scripts into the SVG files. These files can be uploaded via a POST request using the 'logo' parameter in the '/api/v3/companies/<ID>/logo' endpoint. Once stored on the server, the injected scripts are executed in the context of users who access the affected resource.
Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user accessing the compromised resource.
