List Children WordPress Plugin Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the List Children plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 2.1. This issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes in the 'list_children' shortcode. As a result, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which will execute when users access the affected pages.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users can update to version 2.2.0 or a newer patched version to address this vulnerability.
