Drupal Colorbox Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in the Drupal Colorbox module, affecting all versions prior to 2.1.3. The issue arises because the module does not properly sanitize data attributes before opening modals, allowing attackers with specific permissions to inject malicious scripts.

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Remediation
