A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in PHPGurukul Men Salon Management System version 1.0. The issue resides in the admin forgot-password.php file, where the email parameter is manipulated to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely without authentication, allowing attackers to gain unauthorized access to the database, leak sensitive data, tamper with information, and potentially disrupt services.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, enabling attackers to manipulate database queries. This could lead to unauthorized data access, data modification or deletion, and in some cases, executing administrative operations on the database.
To reproduce this vulnerability, send a POST request to the admin forgot-password.php file with the email parameter. Inject a payload that exploits time-based blind SQL injection, such as one that uses the SQL sleep function to demonstrate the injection. The request can be made using a tool like sqlmap, which automates the process of finding and exploiting SQL injection vulnerabilities.
It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection. Input validation and filtering should be implemented to ensure user input conforms to expected formats. Additionally, minimize database user permissions and conduct regular security audits.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
