A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Exynos4-IS media platform has been addressed. The issue arose in the 'fimc_is_hw_change_mode()' function, which altered camera modes without waiting for the hardware to finish processing. This oversight could lead to data corruption or system freezes if subsequent tasks were executed before the hardware was ready. The vulnerability has been mitigated by adding a synchronization step, 'fimc_is_hw_wait_intmsr0_intmsd0()', after the mode change, ensuring that the hardware state is properly aligned and interrupts are managed stably.
The vulnerability could cause data corruption or system hangs by allowing operations to proceed before the hardware was ready, potentially leading to interrupted or incomplete processes.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
