A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's STMMAC network driver related to Precision Time Protocol (PTP) configuration has been addressed. The issue arose because the PTP rate could be incorrectly recorded as zero, leading to a division by zero error when this value was used in Enhanced Synchronous Traffic (EST) configuration. The vulnerability has been resolved by adding a check to ensure the PTP rate is not zero before applying the EST configuration, thus preventing the division by zero error.
Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to a division by zero error, potentially causing a system crash or other unintended behavior.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
