A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's memory management system has been addressed. The issue arose because the 'obj_exts' field in the slab allocator was not properly cleared when memory allocation profiling was disabled. This oversight could lead to errors, as the page state remained incorrectly charged to a control group. The problem has been fixed by ensuring that 'obj_exts' is always cleaned up, preventing the associated page state errors.
The vulnerability could lead to a bad page state error, with pages incorrectly charged to a cgroup, causing memory management issues.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
