Linux Kernel Udmabuf Buffer Size Overflow Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A buffer size overflow vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel's udmabuf component. This issue arises during the creation of udmabuf by improperly handling the size_limit_mb parameter, which can lead to a buffer overflow. The vulnerability has been addressed by casting size_limit_mb to a 64-bit integer before calculating the page limit.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to a buffer overflow, potentially allowing for arbitrary code execution or causing a denial-of-service condition.
