Wise Chat Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability via X-Forwarded-For Header

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Wise Chat plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 3.3.4. This vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. The injected scripts are executed when users access the compromised pages.

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Wise Chat plugin to version 3.3.5 or a newer patched version.
