- <= 1.42.0
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Forminator Forms plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.42.0. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts. These scripts are executed when users access the affected pages.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Contributor-level access or higher can inject scripts via the 'limit' parameter. The lack of proper sanitization and escaping allows these scripts to be executed when the injected page is accessed.
Users are advised to update the Forminator Forms plugin to version 1.42.1 or a newer patched version.
