Mang Board WP Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Mang Board WP plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.8.6. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in the board_header and board_footer parameters. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with administrator-level access to inject arbitrary scripts into pages, which are executed when users access the affected pages. The vulnerability is present in multi-site installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users can update to version 1.8.7 or a newer patched version to address this vulnerability.
