SMTP for Amazon SES - YaySMTP Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the SMTP for Amazon SES - YaySMTP plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.8. This vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary scripts into email logs. The injected scripts are executed when a user accesses the affected page.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the email logs.

Remediation

Users can update to version 1.9 or a newer patched version to address this vulnerability.
