RT-Labs P-Net Out-of-Bounds Write Vulnerability Allowing Memory Corruption on Affected IO Devices

An out-of-bounds write vulnerability has been identified in RT-Labs P-Net versions prior to 1.0.2. This vulnerability allows an attacker to corrupt the memory of IO devices using the P-Net library by sending a malicious RPC packet.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for memory corruption on IO devices that utilize the P-Net library, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution or causing the device to crash.

Remediation

Users are advised to update to RT-Labs P-Net version 1.0.2.
