RT-Labs P-Net Heap-Based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability Allowing Denial-of-Service

A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in RT-Labs P-Net versions through 1.0.1. This vulnerability allows an attacker to cause a crash in I/O devices that utilize the P-Net library by sending a malicious RPC packet.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability leads to a crash of the affected I/O devices.

Remediation

Users are advised to update RT-Labs P-Net to version 1.0.2.
