Projectworlds Online Doctor Appointment Booking System SQL Injection Vulnerability in deletepatient.php
Vulnerability
A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the Online Doctor Appointment Booking System by Projectworlds, version 1.0. The issue resides in the file deletepatient.php, where the 'ic' parameter is manipulated, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication, leading to unauthorized database access, data modification or deletion, and potential exposure of sensitive information.
Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, enabling attackers to manipulate database queries. This could result in unauthorized data access, data leakage, data modification or deletion, and in some cases, executing administrative operations on the database.
Reproduction
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to the deletepatient.php file with the 'ic' parameter. The request should include a payload that exploits the SQL injection vulnerability, such as a time-based blind SQL injection payload that uses the MySQL BENCHMARK function.
Remediation
It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
