PHPGurukul Boat Booking System SQL Injection Vulnerability in add-subadmin.php

Vulnerability

A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in PHPGurukul Boat Booking System version 1.0. The issue resides in the add-subadmin.php file, where the sadminusername parameter is manipulated to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication, allowing attackers to gain unauthorized access to the database, manipulate or delete data, and access sensitive information.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for unauthorized database access, manipulation or deletion of data, access to sensitive information, and potential disruption of services.

Reproduction

The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to the add-subadmin.php file with a crafted payload that includes the sadminusername parameter. This payload should be designed to exploit the time-based blind SQL injection vulnerability by using a SQL injection payload that leverages the SQL SLEEP function. The request can be made using a tool like sqlmap, which automates the process of finding and exploiting SQL injection vulnerabilities.

Remediation

It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
