OpenEMR Patient Image Feature Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Patient Image feature of OpenEMR versions prior to 7.0.3.1. The issue arises from the EXIF title in images, which can be manipulated to execute malicious scripts.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to OpenEMR version 7.0.3.1 or later to address this vulnerability.
