Apple Symlink Vulnerability in macOS Ventura, Sequoia, and Sonoma

A vulnerability exists in the handling of symbolic links within the AppleMobileFileIntegrity component of macOS Ventura 13.7.5, macOS Sequoia 15.4, and macOS Sonoma 14.7.5. This vulnerability allows a malicious application to create symlinks to protected areas of the disk, potentially leading to unauthorized access or modification of sensitive files.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could allow a malicious app to gain access to or modify protected user data, or to manipulate files in restricted areas of the file system.
