A privilege escalation vulnerability has been identified in some Intel Distribution for Python software installers prior to version 2025.2.0. This vulnerability arises from an uncontrolled search path in user applications, which may allow an unprivileged adversary with authenticated user status to escalate privileges. The attack, characterized by high complexity, could potentially be executed through local access, requiring active user interaction and without special internal knowledge.
Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized privilege escalation, allowing an attacker to gain elevated rights or access within the system.
Users are advised to update Intel Distribution for Python software to version 2025.2.0 or later. The latest version can be downloaded from the Intel OneAPI Distribution for Python download page.
