A vulnerability allowing local privilege escalation has been identified in Microsoft AutoUpdate (MAU) for Mac, version 4.78. This issue arises from incorrect default permissions, which could be exploited by an authorized attacker to gain elevated privileges on the affected system.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could allow an attacker to gain ROOT privileges on the affected system.
