A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the WeGIA application, specifically within the adicionar_tipo_atendido.php endpoint. This issue allows attackers to inject malicious scripts into the tipo parameter, which are then stored on the server. The injected scripts are executed automatically when the affected page is accessed by users, creating a significant security risk. The vulnerability affects WeGIA versions prior to 3.2.15 and has been patched in version 3.2.16.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user accessing the page, potentially leading to session hijacking, credential theft, and other malicious actions as described in the advisory.
To reproduce this vulnerability, send a POST request to the adicionar_tipo_atendido.php endpoint with a payload in the tipo parameter that includes a script, such as an image tag with an error event handler. Once the payload is injected, it will be executed automatically when the page is accessed.
Users can update to WeGIA version 3.2.16 or later to address this vulnerability.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
