A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in PHPGurukul Old Age Home Management System version 1.0. The issue resides in the file '/admin/bwdates-report-details.php', where the 'fromdate' parameter is manipulated, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication, leading to unauthorized database access, data manipulation, and potential disruption of service.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for unauthorized access to the database, manipulation or deletion of data, and access to sensitive information. It poses a significant threat to the overall security of the system and its data integrity.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/admin/bwdates-report-details.php' with the 'fromdate' parameter. The injected SQL payload can be crafted to exploit the time-based blind SQL injection vulnerability, such as by using a payload that includes a time delay command, like 'SLEEP(5)', which can be used to verify the success of the injection.
It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
