Pinecone Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in Simulator

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Pinecone Simulator (pineconesim) included in Pinecone versions through commit ea4c337. This vulnerability allows for the injection of malicious scripts that are stored in memory and executed in the context of the user. However, the injected payloads are not permanently stored and will be removed upon restarting the simulator.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user.
