Qualcomm Snapdragon Products Buffer Over-Read Vulnerability in WLAN Host

Vulnerability

A buffer over-read vulnerability has been identified in the WLAN host component of various chipsets, including those used in Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and 8 Gen 2 mobile platforms, as well as several other Snapdragon and Qualcomm platforms. This vulnerability can lead to a transient denial-of-service condition by causing memory corruption when the system processes beacon frames with invalid information element header lengths.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability can cause memory corruption, leading to a transient denial-of-service condition.

Remediation

Qualcomm has released patches for this vulnerability. Instructions for applying the patch can be found in the Qualcomm July 2025 Security Bulletin.
