Moodle Reflected Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in Question Bank Filter

Vulnerability

A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Moodle's question bank filter. This issue arises from insufficient sanitization of JavaScript parameters, allowing for the injection of malicious scripts. The vulnerability affects Moodle versions 4.5 prior to 4.5.2, 4.4 prior to 4.4.6, and 4.3 prior to 4.3.10.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to Moodle versions 4.5.2, 4.4.6, or 4.3.10 to address this vulnerability.
